Career details:

David John arrived in England as one of the few rugby players to have come out of the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. He enjoyed a brief spell with Bath Rugby in the 1997/1998 season playing in three first fifteen matches. Signed from local rivals Bristol, David made his Bath Rugby bow in the 60-15 win over Oxford University on the 14th October 1997 on the right wing. He had to wait a month for a second appearance though before he was selected for the team to face Tonga at the Recreation Ground in November. Bath lost the match 13-29. His final appearance for Bath came in a league match away to Richmond in April 1998. This time he was on the left wing in a back line that included Iain Balshaw at full back and Matt Perry in the centre alongside Jonathan Pritchard. At the end of the season he left the club to join Coventry after a brief loan spell with Keynsham.
