Comments about this page

  • Ian Duckworth moved to Scotland. He was member of the Ochils Mountaineering Club, Stirling. He was involved in numerous first ascents of Scottish climbs, both in summer and winter. He climbed often with Geordie Skelton. He died in rather sad and unfortunate circumstances.
A search on UKClimbing.com will throw up some photographs.

  • I’m afraid we have no further information. You might like to search military records if you’ve not already done so.

  • I would like to know more about Mr Duckworth..Is there any person I can contact who can tell me if Mr Duckworth had served in Singaoore in the 60s.

  • I’m afraid we don’t have any further information. I wish we did because Ian was a unique character. I can only suggest his Royal Marines Service Records would show whether or not he’d served in Singapore.
