Career details:

Gavin Samuel, a product of Colston’s Collegiate, played three matches for Bath Rugby in the 1996/1997 season, starting two and coming on as a replacement in the other. A former England Schools and Colts international (he was capped in the 26pts-18pts defeat to Scotland Colts in 1997), Gavin made his debut for Bath on the 26th November 1996 against the Combined Services (won 40pts-20pts). His second appearance was as a replacement at fly half for Rich Butland in a friendly with Bridgend at the Brewery Field four months later. The 25th March 1997 saw his final appearance which came in a 26pts-16pts home win over the Army in a match in which he slotted a solitary penalty goal, before making way for Butland. The club released Gavin Samuel at the end of the 1996/1997 season.
