Career details:

Paul Simmons who was born in Plymouth on December 9th, 1956 has spent most of his life in the Bath area and learned his rugby at Wellsway School, Keynsham. On leaving school he joined Keynsham RFC, his local Combination club, and for three seasons played in their Colts XV. He then moved up to their 1st XV where his try-scoring ability attracted the attention of Bath. He moved to the Recreation Ground and made his debut against the RAF  and scored 10 tries in 17 games by the end of the season. Despite being unable to win a regular 1st XV place in 1978, he made his debut for Somerset against Monmouthshire and had his championship debut against Gloucestershire.
