Career details:

Fijian-born wing Nigel Simpson spent one season at Bath Rugby in the professional era, and definitely made his mark before he left the club to join newly promoted Rotherham at Clifton Lane. Nigel, an England Sevens international, made his Bath 1st XV debut in a pre-season friendly match at Keynsham in August 1999 and proceeded to run in two tries in a 24pts-3pts win. This precipitated a good run of form for the Bath United XV where he was regularly amongst the tries. He failed to cross a week later against Bridgend and found himself amongst the replacements for the opening league matches, coming on against NEC Harlequins and Bristol (both away from home). He did start further friendly games against Glasgow and Saracens, scoring a try in each, but failed to dislodge the prolific Iain Balshaw and Adedayo Adebayo from the wing spots.  He departed Bath and after spending a season with Rotherham he joined Pontypridd and enjoyed some success at Sardis Road where his bustling qualities often shone, before settling at Plymouth Albion. In total Nigel appeared for Bath Rugby on nine occasions, starting four times and crossed for four tries.
