Career details:

Product of the Bath Schools Rugby Union.

He played rugby early, gaining a place in the school’s XV  and playing for the Bath Boys team. On leaving school he joined Walcot Old Boys Club and eventually gained a place in their 1st XV.

In 1926 he was given a trial for Bath A, played his first game for Bath, and gained his Bath cap in the same year

He was a hard working forward, a little on the slow side but a splendid scrummager. Added to this he was an excellent goal kicker.
