Ashton Brian
Brian Ashton
His senior playing career started at fly-half but he soon moved to scrum-half (his preferred position) for Tyldesley RFC , Fylde, Orrell, A.S. Montferrand, Rome and Milan.
Brian coached at Stonyhurst College and Kings School Bruton before becoming Assistant to Jack Rowell at Bath from 1989-1994. He took over as Head Coach from 1994-1996 before moving to coach Ireland then England “A” and subsequently England.
Brian was a far sighted and innovative coach who was always looking for ways that would allow players to play with ball in hand and wherever possible to avoid contact and seek space for himself or a teammate.
