Tom Hudson
Tom was a legendry fitness coach who became the first Director of Sport at Bath University. He represented Great Britain in Modern Pentathlon at the 1956 Melbourne Olympics. In 1966 he was the Fitness Coach at Llanelli RFC when Carwyn James was Head Coach. As a result of structured fitness training Llanelli became a very exciting and formidable side, eventually being the first club side to defeat the All Blacks. During the years 1968-71 Tom was responsible for organising the fitness training of the Swansea University rugby teams. Tom is credited with convincing FIFA of the need for football referees to undergo fitness training. At Bath Tom was the fitness coach forming a part of the “famous three” with Jack Rowell and Dave Robson.
