Career details:

E T captained both the Blundells rugby XV and the cricket XI and captained Merton College at Oxford. Played for Oxford Greyhounds.

He gained his cricket Blue in 1927 and kept wicket against Cambridge in 1927 and 1928. In 1928 he gained his rugby Blue as scrumhalf and later represented Richmond

E T was a member of Harold Gilligan’s MCC team on tour in New Zealand and Australia, a trip which brought him further athletic distinction

Joined Bath at the beginning of the 1930/31 season. Initially played at scrumhalf but was “tried out” at Flyhalf

He was a player of good physique, particularly so for a scrumhalf

Nickname “Ben”
