Career details:

An England Under 21 international, Adam Hopcroft joined Bath Rugby in the summer of 2000 from home town club Chinnor and had the experience of sitting on the bench during Bath’s defeat at the hands of the Newcastle Falcons in January 2001. Adam was born in Namibia on 3rd February 1979 and is 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighed 17 stone 5 lbs. He appeared in all of the Bath United games in 2000/2001 adding much needed experience to his range of scrummaging skills. His patience was rewarded in the 2001/2002 season when he eventually made the breakthrough into the first team sitting on the bench as cover for props John Mallett, Simon Emms and David Barnes. His senior Bath Rugby debut came as a replacement for Emms in the 37-6 Heineken Cup victory over Edinburgh in the Scottish Capital in October 2001, and he doubled his appearances for the club a week later in the return fixture at the Rec. However, that was to be the sole extent of Adam’s career in a Bath jersey, as he never quite managed to break into the first-team squad on a regular basis. He moved to join Henley Hawks later in 2002.
