Career details:

Pete Parfitt started with Avonvale as a Scrum half with Roy Farnham as his Fly half.  He moved to Walcot Old Boys RFC where he started his long career as a Prop Forward. Army service intervened, after which he joined the Bath Club. Following a long Bath career he went back to Walcot before finally joining Oldfield Old Boys RFC playing in the company of his brothers Rob and Alan.

Although an immensely strong man Peter will be remembered as the gentle giant of the Front row. He was a formidable opponent, a hard scrummager yet had a good sense of fair play and would not stand for ungentlemanly play. He is renowned for his habit of hitching up one leg of his shorts as he ran to scrums and lineouts.

One of the all time greats of the front row. Had Bath, at the time, been a more fashionable club there is little doubt that he would have won a number of caps for England.
